【Malaysia】Automatic Suspension for Expired CoC in e-ComM System

From December 13, 2023, the recent enhancement to the e-ComM system involves the renewal of the Certificate of Conformity (CoC).

CoCs expired for more than six months will now be automatically suspended for renewal.

According to the Certification Agreement eTAC/DOC/01-1, CoCs expired for over six months will be automatically suspended by SIRIM QAS International, with notification.

If no action is taken by the Certificate Holder within fourteen working days, the CoC may be recommended for cancellation to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

Impacted applicants have a 30-day grace period from the announcement date to renew applications.

Failure to renew within this period will result in closure of the Type Approval application, and the impacted model will require a new Type Approval application before importation.

Announcement Ref. No.: SQASI/CMCS/1/23/0009 RENEWAL OF CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMITY (COC) THAT HAS EXPIRED FOR MORE THAN SIX MONTHS (6).
