The Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) has published agreements in the Official Gazette of the Federation to establish the following Technical Provisions:
IFT-016-2024: Low-power radio communication devices – Devices operating within the radio spectrum frequency bands from 30 MHz to 3 GHz – Specifications, limits, and test methods.
IFT-017-2023: Radio communication systems using wireless access – Local area radio networks – Radio communication equipment employing digital modulation techniques and operating within the frequency bands of 5150 MHz–5250 MHz, 5250 MHz–5350 MHz, 5470 MHz–5600 MHz, 5650 MHz–5725 MHz, 5725 MHz–5850 MHz, and 5925 MHz–6425 MHz.
Although these new regulations will not be immediately required for customs clearance until they are adopted as NOMs by the Ministry of Economy, compliance will become mandatory for marketing purposes once the provisions take effect. By that time, both testing laboratories and certification bodies must obtain the necessary accreditations.
