What is Product Safety Certification?

Product safety certification encompasses the testing, inspection, and approval of products to verify compliance with established electrical safety standards, ensuring they can be used safely by consumers. Failure to comply with these standards can result in significant safety hazards, legal liabilities, and restricted access to international markets.

Over time, increasingly stringent safety regulations have been crucial in lowering the incidence of injuries caused by electrical and electronic products. To keep pace with these evolving requirements, manufacturers must navigate complex, country-specific regulatory landscapes. Partnering with an experienced global market access provider is essential for achieving compliance and safeguarding consumer safety.

What Documents Are Required?

Product safety certification requirements differ from country to country and vary depending on the type of product. Certifications such as , BSMI(Taiwan), BIS (India), and CCC (China) cover a wide range of electrical and electronic products, but not all items fall within their scope—including some that might not obviously appear to need safety approval at first glance.

In some markets, FCC or CE reports may not be sufficient—local testing may be required.

At Glodacert, our experts provide end-to-end guidance through these varying requirements. Our Global Access Management tools offer clear documentation checklists for each target country, helping you streamline your certification process and achieve faster market entry.
