Australia’s ACMA Opens Consultation on 2 GHz MSS Band

On 9 July 2025, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) launched a public consultation on the 2 GHz Mobile-Satellite Service (MSS) band, focusing on allocation design and technical rules.

Consultation Scope

  • Covers the 1980–2010 MHz uplink and 2170–2200 MHz downlink MSS bands.
  • Aims to support satellite communication services across Australia.

Participation & Timeline

  • Consultation closes on 20 August 2025.
  • Stakeholders can submit feedback via the official portal.
